For me in particular, hard disagree. Had a challenging and fun career until it turned into the same problems, different year. Retirement lets me pursue wide interests, interact with a more diverse group of people, and generally be a better human. Managing people is manipulation and while successful at it, I always found it a bit distasteful in spite of them thinking I'm a good guy
