Ask HN: Apple rejected my dev account enrollment with no reason, what do I do?

I lived in the US for about 10 years and moved back to India this year. My Apple Account was set to the US region and I switched it to India before enrolling in the Apple Developer Program as an individual. I verified with my passport and paid with an Indian card.

The enrollment was declined. I called support and followed up by email, and got the same template: "For one or more reasons, your enrollment in the Apple Developer Program couldn't be completed. We can't continue with your enrollment at this time."

There's no reason given, no appeal process, and nothing to fix. The Apple Developer Forums are full of identical threads going back years, and almost none of them end with a resolution.

They hold a complete monopoly over the App Store, I tried emailing them with 2 different accounts (initially with firstname@company.app, then with name@gmail.com) with no replies for up to 10 days. I've been at this for over 2 months with them. I find it preposterous that this is acceptable behaviour.

I'm sure the advice that's stated on forums will be restated - Try again with a new email account and a new Apple ID. But why? Why is this acceptable for a multi-trillion dollar corporation?

I had a similar experience with trying to get Google support for a different matter and it took me a couple of months to get it resolved.
